The RFA 8.10 application is for exam applicants who have previously passed the Bar Exam but never submitted an Oath of Office. Please note, these applicants will file a Uniform Bar Exam Score Transfer Application.
RFA 8.10(a)(4) – Qualifications for Admission; Oath of Office
According to Oregon State Bar Rules for Admission 8.10(a)(4):
- (4) An applicant who does not take and file the oath of office within thirteen months after the date of the notice advising that the applicant passed the bar examination shall, prior to admission, file an application for admission as prescribed by the Board and pay the fees prescribed by Rule 4.10(1)(d). Such applicant shall be permitted to take the oath of office when found by the Court to have the requisite moral character and fitness to practice law, learning and ability. Such oath of office must be filed within one year of being advised that applicant is eligible for admission pursuant to this subsection.
Instructions for Filing an Application for RFA 8.10 Admission
These instructions and forms are designed for those who wish to apply for admission under RFA 8.10(a)(4):

- Please read RFA 8.10 – Qualifications for Admission; Oath of Office before applying to ensure you meet the requirements of the rule, including (but not limited to):
- Achieved a passing score on previous Bar Exam;
- Did not take and file Oath of Office within thirteen (13) months after the date of the notice advising that the applicant passed the bar examination
Filing Deadlines
There is no filing deadline for 8.10 applicants, but please be aware that at certain times of the year (specifically around the bar exam deadlines) there may be a slight delay in processing of the application.
Application Fees
The alternative admission application fee for applicants seeking admission under RFA 8.10 (Qualifications for Admission; Oath of Office) is $300. Application fees must accompany the completed application forms.
